Torre Guaceto beach: the short version
The Torre Guaceto beach is not one beach but a stretch of sandy coves, dunes and rocky shore inside a state nature reserve. You park at the north entrance, walk or take the shuttle to the reserve and then choose between the free beach and the lido. A large part of the sea in front of the tower is a no-swimming zone.
Plan for a day that follows the reserve's rules: no dogs, no drones, no loudspeaker music and no motor vehicles. If you want more than the beach, look at the guided walks and e-bike tours. The beach at the entrance itself has its own page, Punta Penna Grossa.

Free beach, lido or protected sea
The three ways to spend time at the water, with the fees for 2026.
| Option | What it is | Price in 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Free beach | Open beach in the permitted zones. Bring your own shade and water. | Free, plus parking |
| Lido package | 1 umbrella and 2 sunbeds, toilets and a food point at the lido | June and September €35 full day, €25 half day. July and August €40 full day, €30 half day |
| Zones B and C of the sea | Swimming from sunrise to sunset | Free |
| Zone A of the sea | Integral protection, no swimming | – |
| Parking | Car €8, motorbike €4, camper €8, coach €32 per day. The camper rate is not permission to stay overnight | Per vehicle, per day |
For most visitors the free beach plus the lido package on a hot July day is the right mix: you pay for shade only when you need it. In June and September the lido costs less, and the free beach is enough for a short stay.

E-bike rides, olive grove visits and day trips from Ostuni and Brindisi, with live prices and availability.
Where you cannot swim
Swimming is banned in zone A of the marine park. Local signs and zone maps are final.
Two stretches belong to zone A in the 2026 season: the lagoon at the tower and the last 2 coves before the tower when you walk from north to south. Do not use these coves for swimming or independent snorkeling. The same goes for the land side: the terrestrial zone A is closed to visitors.
The one exception is guided seawatching with an approved provider, from the shore and within 10 m of the coast. A guided tour does not give you the right to swim there on your own. The snorkeling page explains all the zones.
A swimming zone is not a water quality report. The health ministry runs a bathing water portal (Portale Acque) where you can look up individual bathing areas.

Rules on the beach
These apply in the 2026 season. They protect the dunes, the nests and the animals.
No dogs and no drones
Dogs, drones, fishing nets and loudspeaker music are not allowed. Do not disturb animals. Motor vehicles stay outside the reserve.
No food for wildlife
Wolves live in the reserve. Do not feed animals and do not leave food scraps. Night walks and camping are not allowed where animals may breed.
No camping on the beach
The regional bathing rules ban camping and overnight stays outside approved sites. Pitching a tent on the sand is not an option.
Access from morning to sunset
Entry is free from the morning until sunset. The gate itself is open from 08:00 to 19:30. Check the current hours before you go.
Posidonia leaves on the sand
You will probably see brown leaves on the shore. They belong to Posidonia oceanica, a marine plant with roots, leaves and fruit, not an alga. Its meadows give shelter to marine life and soften waves. Leaves that break off are carried to the beaches. This is not a sign of pollution.
The sandy beach and the rocky areas under the water are different habitats. No sighting of animals is guaranteed, and the sea turtles that nest on this coast are protected. Keep your distance from nests and from anything marked by staff.

Other beaches near Torre Guaceto
Not every beach on this coast is part of the reserve.
Apani, the southern access
The sea zone ends at the Scogli di Apani. Apani is the southern access point. Do not assume the same parking prices or shuttle as at the north entrance, and check the signs on site.
Specchiolla
Specchiolla is a coastal village in the municipality of Carovigno, a few kilometers from the reserve. It has sandy beaches, a low rocky coast, free sections and lidos, plus hotels and campsites. Staying there is not a permit to camp in the reserve. See Carovigno.
Rosa Marina near Ostuni
Rosa Marina is a sandy stretch in the municipality of Ostuni with tourist facilities. It is a separate coast from the reserve. More on Ostuni.
If your trip continues far south, the beaches of Calabria have their own guide.

Torre Guaceto beach: frequently asked questions
Is there a lifeguard or a shower at every cove?
Do not count on it. The lido has toilets and a food point, and it offers a free solarium and sea access chairs for people with disabilities. Other coves are open beach without these services, so bring water and shade.
How far is the beach from the car park?
The path from the car park to the entrance is 1.2 to 1.4 km, about 20 minutes on foot or by bike. A shuttle is included for people who park there. Details are on the Punta Penna Grossa page.
Can I swim in front of the tower?
No. The lagoon at the tower and the last 2 coves before it are in zone A, where swimming is banned. Swim in the permitted zones B and C and follow the signs.
Do I need to book a beach spot?
The free beach needs no general reservation. The lido package may need booking, and the car park fee applies. Check the current information before the day.
Can I bring a tent or a barbecue?
No tent: camping outside approved sites is banned. Do not plan a barbecue either, because fire risk is a concern in the reserve and open fire is not an allowed activity.
Is this the official page of the beach?
No. This is an independent guide with no link to the reserve's management, the municipality or the lido operator.
