Where to stay in Puglia for Torre Guaceto
You do not sleep inside the reserve. The places to stay are in the towns, on the coast and in the countryside around it. The reserve lies between Carovigno and Brindisi, so these two towns and the villages between them are the natural bases. Ostuni and its coast work too if you want a bigger choice of old town and sea.
Think about three things: whether you drive, how much of the trip is beach and how much is towns. The reserve is reached from car parks at its entrances. If you plan guided hikes and bike tours, a base within a short drive of the entrance saves time. The pages on getting there and the beaches explain the entrances.

Towns and areas compared
What each base offers. These are areas, not recommendations of single properties.
| Area | Type of stay | Good for | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carovigno | City apartments, B&Bs, hotels | A hill town with a castle, close to the reserve | A hill town, not a beach base |
| Specchiolla | Hotels and campsites | Sandy beaches, low rocky coast, free beach sections and lidi, a few km from Torre Guaceto | A coastal village in the municipality of Carovigno |
| Serranova and countryside | A masseria in Serranova, rural stays near Brindisi and Torre Guaceto, masserie near Mesagne | Quiet nights among olive groves | Not every masseria is a working farm stay or on the beach |
| Ostuni | Town stays and coastal stays | The white town and the coast at Rosa Marina | Town and coast are different bases |
| Brindisi | City apartments, B&Bs, hotels | Airport, station, harbor and old town | The reserve is a drive away |
For most visitors whose main plan is Torre Guaceto, Carovigno or Specchiolla is the practical base. Choose Brindisi if you arrive by plane or train and want the city, and a masseria if you want quiet and have a car.

Carovigno guide โSpecchiolla and the coast
This village lies in the municipality of Carovigno, a few kilometers from the reserve. It has sandy beaches, a low rocky coast and both free sections and lidi. That makes it the base for beach days, but it is not a place to pitch a tent in the reserve.
Beaches guide โMasserie and rural stays
There are rural stays around Brindisi and Torre Guaceto, a masseria in Serranova and masserie near Mesagne. Check before you book whether a masseria is a farm stay and how far it is from the coast.
Ostuni hotels and the coast
Ostuni hotels sit in the old town or on the coast. Rosa Marina is a sandy coastal place in the municipality with lodging and restaurants. Do not assume the same walking distance to the reserve from the town and the coast.
Ostuni guide โBrindisi
The city has hotels and apartments, and the airport and the station are there. Allow a drive to the reserve.
Brindisi guide โGetting around from your stay
Car, bus and the reserve's park-and-ride.
With a car
The reserve is reached from the SS379 at the Torre Guaceto and Punta Penna Grossa exit, or from the Apani exit in the south. For the 2026 season the car park at the northern gate costs โฌ8 per car and day, and the gate is open from 08:00 to 19:30 every day from 6 June.
Without a car
The airport bus connects Brindisi airport, Brindisi station, the center and Costa Morena. It does not stop at Torre Guaceto. Work out the last stretch to the beach before you book, for example from Carovigno station.
Park-and-ride
The park-and-ride has a shuttle for car park customers, and a walking or cycling path of about 1.2 to 1.4 km leads to the beach. Check current shuttle service before you count on it.
Sleeping outdoors
Camping and overnight stays outside permitted areas are banned by the regional bathing rules. The reserve is open from the morning to sunset, and you should not walk at night or camp where wolves may have dens.
