Brindisi weather at a glance
Torre Guaceto lies on the coast between Carovigno and Brindisi, so Brindisi weather is a good guide to what you will find. Summers are hot and dry, winters are mild and wetter. The values on this page are long-term averages for the Brindisi area (1981 to 2010). They describe the climate, not the forecast for your day.
July and August are the hottest months, with average daily highs of 30.4 and 30.6 °C. July is also the driest month. November is the wettest. If you want the beach and the full summer services, plan for June to September. If you prefer walking in cooler air, spring and early autumn are easier. Guided hikes and bike tours run year-round, so the reserve is not only a summer trip.

High and low are the long-term mean of the daily maximum and minimum, not record values. Rain is the mean monthly total. For most visitors, May, June and September give a good balance: warm days, lower highs than in midsummer and the reserve's services running in the main season.
Our pick: a plan B for wet days
On a rainy autumn day, a short olive oil tasting at a masseria near Ostuni is an easy plan B to a day at the coast.

What each season is good for.
May and June
Average highs rise from 23.4 to 27.7 °C and rain drops to 32.9 and 23.0 mm. Good for walks and bike rides, and for the start of the beach season. In 2026 the reserve's summer services began on 6 June.
July and August
The hottest and driest months, with average highs above 30 °C. This is the time for swimming and the beach, but not for long walks at midday. Plan walks for the early morning or evening and bring water and sun protection.
September
Highs fall to 26.4 °C, while rain rises to 57.3 mm. It combines beach time and sightseeing without the midsummer peak. The regional bathing season normally runs from 1 May to 30 September.
October and November
Mild days, with highs of 22.0 and 17.1 °C, but the most rain of the year: 72.4 and 84.3 mm. Good for walking and for the towns nearby. Beach services run in summer, so check what is open before you go.
December to April
Highs between 12.5 and 18.3 °C, lows down to 4.7 °C. Choose this season for quiet walks and for the visitor center, a 1-hour visit all year. Swimming is not the aim.

For most visitors who want both beach and walks, early June or September is a good fit. If swimming is your main goal, July and August have the driest weather, but also the hottest.
Wind, sea and heat on the day
What the monthly averages do not tell you.
Sea conditions
The sea changes from day to day. Guided seawatching needs calm water, so a windy day can mean a change of plan. Read about the swimming zones and guided options on the snorkeling page.
Water temperature
The temperature of the sea differs from week to week. Do not infer it from the air temperatures in the table. Check the forecast close to your visit.
Heat and shade
In summer, bring water, a hat and sun protection, and keep the opening hours in mind: for the 2026 season the reserve gate is open 08:00 to 19:30 every day.
